On May 20th, the 2nd Shanghai Citizen Games Putuo District’s “Pook City Cup” Badminton Invitational Tournament for Putuo’s Private-owned Enterprises was held at Shanghai Sports Palace. A team from China Security & Fire Co., Ltd. (CSF) participated in this sports tournament.
The tournament was jointly sponsored by Putuo Federation of Industry and Commerce, Putuo Social Work Committee, and Putuo Sports Administration. It attracted 102 badminton teams, and aimed to offer an opportunity for Putuo’s private-owned enterprises’ employees to demonstrate their skills and make new friends in the community.
The tournament involved round-robin and elimination games. Players gave wonderful performances, and the spectators cheered loudly and enthusiastically. After fierce competition, teams from Shanghai Shuangdi Daily Groceries Co., Ltd, Shanghai Zhisheng Industrial Group Limited and Fusun (Group) Limited bagged the first three places.
China Security & Fire’s team defeated all rivals in the same group in the first round, and entered the Top 16 with overwhelming advantage. In the next round, China Security & Fire’s team made a spectacular effort, but ended up being defeated by Fusun’s team. After failing in the first round of the men's doubles, CSF’s players in women's singles defeated all their opponents. In the third round, CSF’s players faced tough opponents, but put in all their efforts, as they intercepted well and returned some spectacular smashes. Although CSF lost the match 2:1 and didn’t move on to the Top 8, China Security & Fire’s players won the respect and applause from rivals and spectators.
The tournament provided a good opportunity for China Security & Fire to improve team cohesion, strengthen friendly exchanges with other enterprises, and brought to the fore CSF’s employees indomitable sportsmanship and healthy and progressive spirit.
